Marketing Genius

I am a big fan of Ben Mack's view of the world.  Why, because he is a lateral thinker who easily and quickly grasps the absurdity of the world and our reality.  Plus I have to imagine he likes science fiction.  Seriously, he follows in the footsteps of Buckminster Fuller and Robert Anton Wilson, both of whom fascinate me

To date, he has written two books, at least to the best of my knowledge.  I have read them both and love 'em.

The first one I would recommend is Think Two Products Ahead: Secrets the Big Advertising Agencies Don't Want You to Know and How to Use Them for Bigger Profits which provides you with an excellent overview of branding.  In it he actually takes you through a process to show you how to position your products in their best light.  Even better, he shows you how to maintain momentum and to continually evolve products.

Somebody once told me that you could achieve real genius when you could come up with the solution to the problem your solution would generate.  In other words, think two solutions ahead.  All in all an excellent read and business philosophy.

The second book I would like to show you was actually Ben's first book.  Its title,Poker Without Cards: A Consciousness Thriller .  It's semi-biographical book gives you a glimpse into his history and thought processes.  It reminded my a lot of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, a book that has had a profound impact on my life.  It is raw and causes you to question your values and assumptions.  The ending was, at least for me, somewhat of a disappointment, but the ride to get there was well worth it.  It will make you think.   We all need to think more.

Okay, he does have a third book, which I haven't read.  It's
