Steve Chambers is a leading authority in the fields of body language, sales excellence and the science of influence and persuasion. With over 20 years of experience in sales and management Steve is an “Optimizer”, someone who identifies the key strategies and steps needed to optimize sales and marketing results.
Steve spent ten years as an Engineering Officer in the United States Navy, leading organizations of more than 100 people and rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander before leaving the Navy to acquire his MBA and pursue a business career.
His experience in business includes leading corporate sales teams in the Marine and Shipbuilding Industries and in Industrial and Commercial Sales. Steve’s sales experience ranges from working as a Territory Representative covering a relatively small region up to Western Regional Sales Manager and on to National Shipbuilding Marketing Manager. In addition to his sales experience he managed a marine distribution center including handling its merger with another smaller company.
An accomplished facilitator, speaker, trainer and coach, Steve has worked with both Tony Robbins and Kevin Hogan. He is relentless in his message that sales tactics and methods need to evolve with the times; people need to be educated and not sold. Today’s customer is more sophisticated and better informed then customers were only a few years ago. The modern salesperson needs exceptional sales communication skills and a greater awareness of specific customer needs. These are the keys to sales success today, not old school tactics held over from the 80’s and 90’s.
Steve’s unique combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge makes him the perfect choice to bring into your organization for your next conference, workshop or seminar. His stories are real, his humor is infectious and his approach appeals to everyone.
Steve holds a B.S. in History from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Married with two children, Steve currently resides in San Diego, CA and divides his time between San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix.
